Development at Shinfield, Spencers Wood and Three Mile Cross
The South of M4 SDL forms an important part of the Council’s strategy to provide much needed housing in the Borough.
Development in what is termed the South of M4 Strategic Development Location (SDL) is identified in Wokingham Borough Council’s adopted Core Strategy. This commitment has been recently amplified in the recently adopted Masterplan Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
Taylor Wimpey, David Wilson Homes Southern and The University of Reading are working together as the South of M4 SDL (Strategic Development Location) Consortium to provide a unified overall strategy for development in this area.
The Consortium are currently preparing a planning application for Spencers Wood and Three Mile Cross which supplements the currently submitted University of Reading proposals for Shinfield. The parties have been working in partnership in order to deliver a cohesive vision for the SDL and together they are committed to the delivery of high quality strategic development across each of the three villages.
Public consultation
The Consortium has organised an exhibition for the public to see its detailed proposals and is inviting the local community to attend. At this event you will be able view the plans and discuss them with some of the team working on the project. There will be an opportunity to provide feedback, and the Consortium hopes to be able to incorporate some of this into its formal plans.
The exhibition was held as follows:
Friday, 2nd December 1pm - 6pm
Saturday 3rd December 10am - 2.45pm
Spencers Wood Village Hall, Basingstoke Road, Spencers Wood, Reading, RG7 1AP
Everyone that is interested in the proposals was welcome and encouraged to attend. The materials displayed at the exhibition is now available to download here.
