On behalf of the University of Reading, HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction has been building the new Shinfield Eastern Relief Road and M4 overbridge since January 2015.  The project has progressed well and in January 2016 Hochtief started building the gyratory system at Lane End Farm.  This gyratory system will eventually take traffic from Shinfield Road to the new M4 bridge and vice versa.

Also, ahead of opening the new road to traffic in the summer, Hochtief have started planting trees and bushes, tidying up the soft landscaping and installing permanent fencing along the project boundary.  As a project Hochtief have recently been looking at areas in which the overall “look and feel” of the project can be softened into the existing landscape.  Proposals for this have been submitted to Wokingham Borough Council for consideration and we are also keen to hear the views of the community.  For this reason Hochtief are holding a drop-in session on the below date:

Where?    Shinfield Parish Hall, School Green, Shinfield, RG2 9EH

When?     17th March from 4pm to 8pm

This drop-in session will also be an opportunity to provide an update on the work so far and explain plans for building the new gyratory system at the Cutbush Lane / Shinfield Road junction.

Please do come along and find out more.
