As part of the contract works in relation to the construction of the new Shinfield Eastern Relief Road, HOCHTIEF UK Construction are to undertake a number of modest advance works activities which are programmed to start week commencing 11th August 2014.

These advance works involve radar mapping and localised small excavations in the highway, verges and footpaths to determine the exact locations and orientation of the utilities services running through them. They will also be undertaking CCTV surveys of the existing highway drainage.

It is anticipated that these works will take approximately 5 weeks to complete and will be undertaken each week between 07.30 and 18.00 hrs. Monday to Friday only. Those works that will require some form of traffic management will take place at the following locations:

  •  Black boy roundabout.
  • A327 Hollow Lane (opp the Black boy Public House).
  • The junction of the A327 Hollow Lane and Cutbush Lane.
  • A327 Arborfield Road (east of the Magpie and Parrot Public House

In agreement with the local authority, traffic management will only be in place during off-peak times. Where footpaths are temporarily affected, all diversions will be clearly signed.

If at any point you wish to contact the team regarding the works then we would ask you to contact the project’s Public Liaison Officer, Alan Bedford, who can be contacted on 07813 759837 or by e-mail alan.bedford@hochtief.co.uk
