The Shinfield scheme forms a part of the first phase of the Consortium’s proposals for development in the South of M4 Strategic Development Location (SDL), identified in Wokingham Borough Council’s Core Strategy.
Shinfield West has outline planning permission (O/2010/1432) for:
• 1,350 homes including 150 specialist homes (for older residents, sheltered housing and other specialist housing); • A new primary school; • Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG); • Public open space on land west of Shinfield; • A new village centre, which will include a new supermarket, retail shops and community centre.
An application is currently being progressed for the strategic infrastructure behind the development, including drainage, roads and associated landscaping, which would allow the developers to begin delivering new homes. This application can be viewed here (application 160183).
